Sweep blasting is a specialized blasting technique used, for instance, to delicately roughen galvanized surfaces, aiming to enhance their adhesion for further coatings. Unlike standard surface preparation, in sweep blasting, the abrasive impacts the surface at an extremely narrow angle. Additionally, lower pressure is applied to gently roughen the zinc layer without penetrating it. To prevent corrosion, exclusively mineral and iron-free abrasives, such as fused alumina or garnet sand, are utilized.
